Welcome, friends! This is the website for Alice and Alma handicrafts. In response to the current COVID-19 public health crisis, I am
producing 100% cotton masks for folks who want (or are required) to wear a mask, and who want to look good doing it. My masks are popular with baristas (Alice and Alma lurk a lot in coffee
houses). I have a side business making sturdy quilted potholders and oven mitts, and other projects to order.
A&A masks are made from 100% finely-woven cotton, have two layers, and are fully reversible.
Thank you for visiting the site.
All items are custom-made and currently available for sale by special order. We occasionally carry stock with us when visiting dining
and drinking establishments.
Kindly email info@aliceandalma.com with your order and/or any questions. We can usually put an order in the mail within 24 hours of receiving the order, or arrange personal delivery in the greater Bend OR area. For now, payment is by Paypal.
Alice and Alma were my grandmothers. Although I never met A&A, my parents told me their mums were resourceful, brave women who raised their families alone at the dawn of the twentieth century – when creativity and repurposing meant cutting up a well-worn dress to make a wedding quilt, or knitting your own traveling suit, like Alice did for her first airplane trip. Alice and Alma's granddaughter lives, sews, knits, and creates in Sisters, Oregon.
